This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

I heard this song on the radio today and for some reason it caught my attention. Specifically the line, “‘Cause it feels so empty without me”. The truth of this statement is beautiful. We are all incomplete without Eminem. We are all incomplete without each other. Each and every one of us. Stop recognizing the ignorance and insanity in others and start seeing the truth and the beauty. Stop recognizing the ignorance and insanity in yourself and start seeing the truth and the beauty. Because after all, it is so empty without you.

“I’m gonna be a star. You know why? Because I have nothing left to lose.” – Lady Gaga
“Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.” – Janis Joplin

The only time you should be ashamed of being the fool is when you don’t realize that you’ve been the fool. In the realization that you’ve been the fool what you’re really saying is that you made a mistake, you recognize it, and you’re attempting to correct it. How could this possibly be shameful? This is a wonderful thing.

Rejoice when you see that you’ve been a fool. You’ve done a wonderful work. Now stop being a fool by judging yourself a fool.

The gates of heaven are guarded from the outside.  The gates of hell are guarded from the inside.

Between the Infinite and myself there is no veil.

I am the veil.

Idolatry’s sin isn’t in believing that something is God; it’s in believing that something isn’t.
